Project Flashback – 2018 Front Entrance Update | Somerset, MA
Taking it back to 2018—this Front Entrance Update in Somerset, MA was one of the early projects that helped define The Lawn Artist’s commitment to quality and timeless design.
The homeowner was dealing with failing concrete that had become both a safety hazard and an eyesore. We came in with a full hardscape refresh, replacing the old materials with a Unilock Beacon Hill Flagstone Walkway, bordered with crisp Hollandstone pavers for definition and contrast. The highlight of the entry? Estate Wall steps and a landing featuring a custom paver inlay—adding both structural integrity and a touch of creative flair.
As always, this project was completed with our 5-Year Hardscape Warranty, giving the homeowner peace of mind and long-term confidence.
The Challenges In The Design
One of the main challenges of this project was removing the original deteriorating concrete without damaging nearby landscaping and foundational elements. Precision was essential when rebuilding the grade to support the new Estate Wall steps and to ensure proper drainage away from the home. Integrating the paver inlay within a compact landing space required careful layout and attention to symmetry so that the final design felt both intentional and refined.
The Final Landscape Design
The completed entrance now blends durability with elevated curb appeal. The Beacon Hill Flagstone walkway offers a natural, textured look that feels right at home in the setting, while the Hollandstone border frames the path beautifully. The Estate Wall steps and landing bring solid structure, and the custom paver inlay gives the space a signature finish that’s unique and welcoming. Years later, this front entry still stands strong—proof of quality materials, expert craftsmanship, and a design that never goes out of style.
